I only started last year, but i saw posts where the original seeds will sprout the 2nd yr.
Might be worth the wait.

I don't think it would work so well-
The seeds would need to be covered til they sprout. But the seedlings from last year will already be up and could cook before the seeds are ready to sprout. I think!

Do you still have the tags on them that you know what was planted in them? I'd think if it was annuals, there wouldn't be much hope, but then I am a newbie to WSing.

There 'might' be a change for some things other than annuals.

I don't think the seeds from last year were any good and won't sprout. I just wanted to reuse the potting soil, and didn't know if that was a bad idea.

Not a bad idea at all. You can actually just sprinkle small seeds such as ones from Foxglove, Poppies and such over the top and let nature take it's course from there. Certainly something I would do. :O) If you want to bother, you can let the soil thaw and reuse it from there, but I wouldn't bother. JMHO!!

I misunderstood, my bad! If nothing came up from last year go ahead-some plants can take a year to germinate though. I have a tree seedling and echinacea in the same jug! LOL!
