My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
I Have a young 'Plum Pudding' plant that has devloped suckers. Two are small and need to be removed and one has a pair of 1" leaves and may be a good canidate for propigation. I'm fairly new to AV's so any help would be appreciated.
Just use a sharp hobby knife to cut it off, getting both leaves at once, and set it gently on some moist AV mix. Bag it and keep it out of direct sunlight.
I keep mine bagged for about a month, or when they begin to grow. Then gradually remove the bag and viola! A whole new plant.
To keep the humidity high around the new plant. It doesn't have roots to draw in moisture yet, so it needs higher than normal humidity to get established before it dries out. Be sure that the leaves don't touch the bag. Condensation from the plastic could cause the plantling to rot.
You could also use a fish bowl, cake plate cover, clear tupperware, etc... to keep the moisture higher. I use rigid containers so that I don't have to worry about the bag falling in.
Hay Fred This is more FUN! Go to the Dairy Queen and get a "Hot Fudge Sundae" to go and them keep the cup and lid. They make great mini greenhouses for AV leaves. Have been doing it for a few years. Cork
