Pruning a Bing cherry tree

Hi,

Is OK to prune the excess branches from my cherry trees, now that all of the fruit has been picked, to allow more sunlight on my vegetables?

Also, since my avacado tree didn't produce any fruit this year is it OK to prune it now?
