Wow, that seems soooooo far away! I want it to be here now. Wait, no I don't! I am not ready yet but man is it fun to be able to play in the dirt while we count down!

Token, you might as well add another 30 days on to mine now!

Brandy, it's 21 degrees here right now. It's supposed to drop to 13 overnight. Even the wood heater is cold. We won't talk about the cat. Poor thing is shivering when it drops to 65 in the house. You'd think she'd been abused her entire life.

By March 20, I'll be in full swing here in zone 7b, the daffs will be almost done. Larkspur will be just starting. A few muscari will still be blooming. Knockout roses will be starting. And the perennials will be growing visibly each week. The plum tree will be blooming too.

Wintersown petunias will be really taking off in the hoophouse. I must have sown these earlier than I thought. I guess around the end of February?

    Token,
Those of us in the colder zones will try hard not to hate you in the "spring". Here in Michigan on March 20 we'll probably just be digging out from the annual St Patrick's Day snowstorm. We are guaranteed at least some snow well into April. And we can have frost through the end of May. I don't know how those in zone 4 and below can stand it. But, we'll look forward to seeing your progress and comforting ourselves that we are only a month (or two) behind you.

73 days to go...even though we can have lots of snow for a few weeks after March 21 here in north central CT. The snowdrops and crocus will be up by then however.

I am in Z:4 and surprised that Z:5 has such a late last frost date. Our last frost date is mid May with many waiting until May 31st to plant out tender annuals. It doesn't sound much different than z:5.

After living in St. Louis for 8 years I came back to MN and now find that spring is sooo late. It is not actually spring in my mind until May when the apple trees start blooming. Even with some bulbs blooming in April Mn is very bare until May. Early May is the height of my wintersowing germination.

Oh my gosh....it has only been two days! :(

Once the days start getting longer, and the sun gradually grows stronger, I see Spring in the future. Even tho the worst winter weather is yet ahead, the longer daylight raises my spirit.
So I am also counting down to Spring.

    69 days. Barely 2 months.

Sure wish that was also today's temperature. I'm glad the sun is shining--makes 17 degrees feel a bit warmer than it really is.

It was 16 here overnight. We're up to 23 now. Should reach 30 by the time it starts to fall again.

Seems weird that it's as cold where you are as it is up here in the fozen north. I think it's up to 20 out there now but with the wind it doesn't feel much warmer now than it did earlier. It won't get much warmer as the day goes on and they're saying single digits tonight.
Can't believe I've used half the bale of potting mix already.
