Unless you have a specific need for 4 wheel steering why get the added complexity and weight?

I'd look at the X320 and spend the $500 bucks you'd save on other goodies.

Thanks, justalurker. My hubby thought because of the amount of trees to mow around that he needed this 324 instead. You mentioned the "complexity" and I thought of that too--anytime you have something that's beefed up there are extra parts that can break down. Since hubby will probably do most of the mowing I wanted to give this 324 the benefit of the doubt but the extra $500.00 dollar cost doesn't seem worth it. I'm looking to save money and hubby is looking to make his job easier--it's a hard call to make, lol :D

When 4 wheels steer there are lots more parts and complexity.

An X320 has a 16" turning radius... do you need a tighter turn than that?

Has hubby actually test drove an X320 and an X324? Before I made the choice I'd have to test drive them both. That $500 will buy a 10P cart, seat cover, canopy for those hot mowing days, take you out to a nice dinner and still have some left over.

A 4 wheel steer is great for my yard and the layout of it . The same cant be true using it on my brothers yard , too many tight places . For what I use it for it is the best mower I have ever used . The rear kikin out took some gettin use to , My old 2 wheel steer did good ,this one does a notch better. More to maintain with a 4 wheel steer lubrication is key .

If you're just mowing, also consider the JD Z425 (ZTR) for probably the same money. With lots of trees it's a real advantage to be able to pivot instead of going thru an arc. You will reduce your mowing time considerably..and it's a lot of fun.....I think.

I've never seen any JD 4WS linkage wear out - and JD has been making 4WS steer lawn tractors for 10+ years (in L&G tractors 20+ years). All the parts are beefy and the complexity is minimal.

4WS reduces the "uncut circle" which is the grass left in a tight turn. It will basically reduce all string trimming in most instances.

Go for the X324!
