Nice to see you here! I guess if they grow to much I can stick them in the GH on really cold nights. Maybe I should try the hardy perennials.
What about hardy hibiscus, do them fall under that catory??? Have alot of them to start!

Yes they are hardy Perr. Same thing if they sprout just put in the gh. Ga can be pretty warm in the winter sometimes from my understanding. Just keep a eye on them....Barb

I'm in Zone 5, but I would say the important issue for you is when your last frost date is or when the last possible freeze (after a warm up)could occur.
Up here, freezes could occur in March (who am I kidding, April and May too), so I usually don't start non-hardy annuals (Zinnias and Basil, for example) until late April.
Hardy annuals I do from now until I run out of seeds (or energy).

I lived in Atlanta for a year, and my sister lives there now, but I can't remember anything about the weather except that January was the coldest month (down in the 20s). After that, the weather was changeable, but always warmer.

Kinda wordy, and I hope I didn't make it sound complicated, because it really isn't. But maybe another Georgia person will pipe in.

Whenever I feel uncertain about the sowing time of a seed, I hold a little back and sow some now and then sow another container closer to Spring. That way, I should get some either way...or I get double the pleasure.
