Composting Tree philodendron leaves

I usually cut back the massive philodendron shrub I have in my yard each Fall/Winter, as it dies off anyhow and returns back each spring.

http://www.floridata.com/ref/p/phil_bip.cfm indicates that the leaves are toxic and the sap is sometimes irritative. I've not found anything conclusive on if the toxins are minimal/voided after composting, or of concern.

I use my compost both in vegetable areas and perennial beds/trees.

Anyone with knowledge/literature to answer my question?

Thanks!
