How do hose end sprayers work? Why don'they just spray water?

I've been usig one and at the beginning the volume seemed to go down but now it seems to have leveled off at one point.

what do i do now?

Ive been using one and in the befinning the liquid would seem to be less and less in the bottle but now the liquid amount does not seem to be going down
