Worms don't eat live plants. The eat dead plant material, manures, compost, and other organics in the soil. It all passes through them and what come out the back as they eat their way through the soil is worm castings with nutrients the plants can use. You'd be better off using aged manure or compost in your potted plants to keep the soil loose ans well drained. I think newyorkrita has New York Worms!

Yeah, my compost is composting. I'm going to make some compost tea and I'll put some fish compost on top too. I figured that my plants have been in pots long enough that I can start fertilizing with this stuff! :)

Yep, thats me. Sell all sorts of feeder insects usually used as reptile food and live food for birds.

Carol- If you have nice aged maure and compost in your pots those earthworms will find you and move in by themselves. I am always finding earthworms in anything thats been potted awhile when I finially get around to planting.

I found a bunch of earthworms in hanging baskets.....that one surprised me a bit! I can only imagine that they were in the potting soil? (because I know they didn't slither up the walls!)
