He may have eaten so much he's full. If he's not eating in a few days i'd try some live brine shrimp, it sometimes triggers their hunting instincts. Is neglectment a word?

I wouldn't worry as well, they can go awhile without food. Put some live plants in their or algae rock so on so he can nibble (they do nibble on algae)

Betta talk mentiones up to week or longer without food. How much time has passed? I really wouldn't worry and as James mentions real food would do it. Unless significant (SP) time has passed (if my spelling is off I can blame my cat sitting on my hands and keyboard, lol) I would not feed if his belly is over round..

I feed mine only a few flakes in am and one or two aglae (spirulena) at night. Their tummies are the size of their eye, so easy to overfeed. He is pooping... constipated which is easy to do if overfed. Best Sherry

If a vacation is only a few days, you can just have plants and not feed, they will be ok. (or if longer, food block though I have never used, or those feeders that are on timers)

PS.. do you have some snails? Mine love a smashed snail. BUt if it's been a day or so, and he's gorged (I am sure he did they are pigs) I would wait and let him be in charge. He will eat when he is ready. sometimes animals when not feeling well don't eat, natures way. we try to force it but natures knows best.
