I have a common pleco (Serj)..Its just one I bought from Petsmart like two years ago..From a two inch fish, he has grown to almost 8 inchs. I bought him so he could assist keeping my 65 gal tank clean. His tank buddies, are one red ear slider turtle (Scooter)who is afraid of his own shadow, and a yellow bellied cooter turtle(Sasha)who is the curious of the two turtles. Sometimes Sasha would chase my Pleco, but Serj began to defend himself and seem to scare the turtle away if the turtle came to poke at him. There was never any aggression, or attacks other then curiousity itself. I have no plants in this tank. Only a few large rocks for hiding cover for the fish and the Turtle Docks for them to bask on...The tank is very plain, well maintained and kept clean with a whisper 60 filter in between water changes. However in the past few days I noticed two sores develop on my Pleco. Serj now has what appears to be an open wound, on the end of his nose, and a wound just below the bottom lip of his sucker mouth..I guess that would be equivilant to a chest? I dunno. But its there.. its not puffy. But, a sore that seems white or whitish with fleshy red and pink sinews of tissue I suppose. I am fearing it may be Hole in the Head disease...But I am not sure. I doubt they are from violence between fish and turtle(s), aside from Sasha's antics once and a while. And poor nutrition I dont think is a cause, he eats well and even enjoys sucking on Turtle Pellets which are chalk full of goodness. Does anyone have any suggesstions??? please help my Serj
