The nutrafin by hagen is OK as is for small tanks but for more then 20 gal you will need 2 of the CO2 generators and a better reactor. The nutrafin uses a zig-zag bubble counter/reactor that is not that effective. The CO2 bubbles that are created are supposed bounce back and forth in the zig-zag contraption and break appart releaseing the CO2. Most of the bubbles end up going all the way thru the zig-zag and popping at the surface instead of in the water where it is needed. The good news is you can build your own DIY reactor if you dont mind, and are handy. If a DIY project is not your cup of tea, then I would suggest a semi or fully automatic system that uses compressed CO2 tanks. This is the way I did mine. I made one exactly the same way as the link. Then I made one completely out of PVC and made my own reactor as well. Any ???s just ask. I also have a few other links to DIY systems but this is the best one so far.After you look at this sight go to the other CO2 set ups that work for an updated and better version of this. This one works fine but the other versions are a little easier to make and work better.
