are they overcrowded? how big are they right now?

Never heard of a dwarf angel but think fairy toadmother is on the right track. Growth can be stifled by inadequate space.

no they're not overcrouded, but i think i made a mistake on how long ago i had bought them, more around 8 months i think. but the store wasnt part of a thread so they could have been sold as juvies. Oh and they are a some what larger than a quarter. Sorry for the mistake!

i also made the assumption we are talking about freshwater angels. size of a quarter is still young. give them time and room to stretch their fins. i am sure they would love some live food now and then. i am never sure of the freshness on packaged food and nutritional value.

thanks fairy toadmother, i think i'll treat her(she's pregnant) to some live food next time i get a chance!

if they are old enough to breed, sometimes live food is all it takes to initiate the activity. do you have a pair that stay to themselves? cleaning activity? lip-locking (you will know it when you see it, they look like they are fighting- just "foreplay"). i would have thought quarter size was a little small, but maybe not. usually the thicker ones are full of eggs. breeding tubes will also be visible. it is just before the ventral fin. males are pointy, females blunt (sorry if you know this already). sometimes, you get two of the same sex playing house.
