How do we clean a mineral ring from an old acrylic aquarium? Vinegar isn't doing much.

They manufacture a "kit" to redo acrylic aquariums Besides removing lime deposits will also remove small scathches.. though fairly expensive ,a good investment as improper cleaning can result in even more damages. you can get these from any aquarium store so shop around.
As to the "gravel it could be any of the suggestions but is most likely a dyed form of gravel. The dye is VERY stable IME and will last for years and very strong chemicals. Now do you really want a pink green and yellow substrate??? lol. Good luck!!! gary

You can remove it with HCL hydrochloric or muriatic acid.
