The injection is just temporary. The fish is altered to make it "glow". Unless you are talking of Glowlight Tetras. Also, they have a very shortened lifespan because of this "alteration", so it could be dying.

Go to the link below and try the disease flow charts. Is it definately white? Or, is a spot that the colr faded or was lost completely? If the latter it would be Neon Tetra Disease (NTD). NTD not only effects neons but other fish as well, just called NTD because it was first discovered in that breed.

Glofish are NOT dyed fish. They are genetically engineered zebra danios.

You can cross breed them with leopard, gold, long fin zebras ect and get offspring that keep the glow and the traits of the other parent (granted it's more like shining under a blacklight..). I think if you do that though you can't get rid of the offspring because of the patent.

You are correct adrea, I mixed Glow and Painted Glass up as stated in the link I gave. Guess I should have re-read it, LOL. Good thing Jeff was talking about Glowlights. Just a thought to Jeff, if you have had this fish for 2 years+ it may just be getting old.
