I have no experience with Paradise on its own roots, but I have grown it on two different rootstocks. The one I have now is from Palatine grafted on Multiflora, and so far (this is its first year) it's doing better than the one I had on Dr Huey ever did. However, I grew the first one in my previous garden (altho the same zone), so maybe there are factors other than the type of rootstock that contribute to the difference.

Yah, I was about to check to see if Palatine has it on multiflora and recommend that, but jaxondel beat me to it (I'm a bit slow on the uptake this week). Own root HTs are downright pitiful in my garden, and I'll take one on multiflora anytime. I think it would do well for you too, Patrick.

Especially a multiflora from Palatine! They are the Godzilla's of grafted roses.

I've had one in a 5 gallon pot for 3-4 years and it outperforms the grafted one in the garden. May be the difference in pot culture..gets fed and watered more.

Molineux, Paradise does GREAT! on its own roots. One of the more vigorous root systems for a hybrid tea, I would say. Funny, since the plant can be a little sensitive in some ways. But it is bushier and more vigorous for me own-root than on Dr. Huey. Mine took off great right from the start, looked like a real rose bush within just a very few months.
