No, it isn't true. Just about every stock aquarium made and sold in retail shops, including hex's, have matching stands available; sold seperately of course.

Check out what is available at any large chain pet store with a good sized fish department.

Thanks birdwidow. I will start looking again for other sources. I've been to some of the larger pet stores around here that carry fish and they didn't have what I am looking for. I did find a taller circular aquarium in an exclusive fish/aquarium store, but there was no stand for it.

On re-reading my original post, I realized that I did not say that I wanted the aquarium to be sort of tall, like over two feet! The guy said I would have to have someone make me a special stand for what I was looking for and to make sure it was secured so it wouldn't topple over.

You might try tenecor.com, expensive but they made custom parts for my quarter cylinder one.
