Poaky, the majority of folks who post at BBB type sites do so when they're angry but it is worth checking them out.

I don't know Sheffield's one way or another. My seed buying experience is limited to e-bay and Schumacher seeds. I just called Schumacher, the fella actually volunteered that I probably did not need to buy as large a volume of Metasequoia seeds as I was planning. For that I'm going to recommend them/him forever.

Oh, and while the germination rate on my ebay seeds were 1%-5% Schumacher seeds did germinate about 75% as advertised for that particularly difficult to source species I was dealing with.

The seed co sheffields contacted me and they agreed that it's too late to sow the acorns now, but strangely they have them on their site to buy now.The site you recommended has the burr oak seed too, but I didn't check if you are getting last years seeds or reserving this years.After searching the net I found a site that says that white oaks fam. seed only are viable for 6 mos after falling and red oaks are good for 2-3 years after collection, so I'm wondering why these seed people are offering them now, they have been in business for quite a while(sheffields)I searched the schumacher site and they have alot of variety, previous search engine searches never listed Schumachers to me, so thanks for the referral.Poaky1
