We had a tree co plant 2 Eastern Redbuds a couple years ago; one failed and was replanted last year. We just learned about tree flare and girdling roots. Lo and behold, our trees were planted too deeply (why would a tree co do this?). My husband cleared away the soil and exposed these roots; will they become problematic? We don’t want to cause harm to the trees by removing them if it’s not necessary. Thank you in advance for any knowledgeable input!
