It's not a house. It's a small cabin I built years ago down by a pond I dug with a bulldozer. My buddies and I can sit around in there and drink beer and not bother my wife. ;-)
It has a wood stove, a couple of refrigerators, TV, and a sleeping loft. It's built over a hand dug well that isn't used, except for frogs, newts, and salamanders. It's connected to the pond by a ditch.

Here's the same Rhododendron a year later. No, not quite a year. Eleven months to be exact. I took this picture today, on January 21st. The pics above were taken in the third week of February last year. Our January has been the warmest on record so far, but a month earlier?!!

Your rhodie seems to like it if it is blooming this early. Our winter has not been terribly cold but we did get a really bad snow storm a week ago that dumped in one day what was an incredible -for this area- 9 inches of snow. To put things into perspective, we normally get less than half ina whole winter season. Many live oaks and other trees lost limbs, etc. Except for camellias and some Flowering Quince, everything here is still "asleep" so it is nice to see your Olive going gangbusters over there...

Nine inches of snow in Fort worth Texas is a lot of snow! I spent a almost year near there at Shepard AFB in the sixties. A few years later I donated a Blue China Fir to the Dallas Botanical Garden.
I'm amazed you can grow rhododendrons there.
