Minimum temp to start Colocasia into growth?

Hi. I left some Colocasia esculenta to overwinter under a thick layer of mulch in my garden. The tubers seem to be still firm. I'm hoping they'll sprout again, but I'm wondering if they need warm temperatures to do so. They're planted in a fairly shady spot in heavy soil, so I can't rely on the sun warming them up much. Will they come up by themselves, or should I dig them up and start them in heat? It's quite mild here for the time of year, around 20C (68F) during the day.

60F average soil temp will get them sprouting quickly, digging them up and starting in a warm spot will definitely speed things up.

Thanks. I had a close look yesterday to see how they were doing and managed to knock off the tip of a shoot! What a clumsy oaf I am. Oh well, hopefully they'll keep growing.

Actually, removing the main shoot usually stimulates multiple smaller offshoots, so you'll get a clump instead of just one plant, albeit smaller the 1st year.
