Arisaema Taiwanense

This is a very strange plant in my garden. Planted in my zone 7 garden, it never fails to appear and bloom, although, in the 5 years I have had it, it hasn't put out any offset plants. The most unusual thing about it though is its time of emergence from dormancy.

The tip of the shoot appeared above ground yesterday, and it will probably be in full bloom before mid May, just as it is every spring. This is at least a full month before any other of the sinarisaema species I grow. A. cilliatum, next earliest won't appear till early June, and both A. concinnum and A. consanguineum ( 3 separate varieties) generally appear near the end of June or into early July.

Does this species appear unusually early for others?
