Hi, These should easily flower in less time than this if grown in decent conditions. Grow this species outside in full sun in the summer....fertilize it very heavy with 15-30-15 perhaps once a week or so. This species does not need a long growing season so even in Sweden you should be fine. This species will flower from a tuber 4 inches in diameter pretty routinely and under my zone 6 conditions I can get that large from an offset in 3-4 years. You do not need a second plant to flower, but you will need a second clone if you want to get seed in the future. My advice is to get it outside in full sun for the summer and fertilize heavily and you will likely have a flower next spring. Best of luck :o) Dan

Dan, do you think it's important also to keep the bulb cool in the winter? Mine blooms every year, but maybe I'm just cooling it off for nothing. :) arum

I keep mine in the basement simply to keep them out of the living room....my wife is not that impressed with them I'm afraid!! My smaller tubers of more exotic species stay upstairs in a corner all winter for the most part so hopefully they will think spring a bit earlier in the season.....not that it works all that well, but at least I can say I tried!! I have found over the past 2-3 years that a few African species are very good about breaking dormancy early and going to bed in Oct.....mossambicensis, abyssinicus and an unknown that I've been growing from seed. If they continue to behave nicely for the next couple of years then I would highly recommend these to other zone 6 Amorphophiles :o) Dan
