My lettuce sprouted March 5, and I've been leaving it topless since. Temps have been in the '60's day and 40's nite.
I think radish would also be ok topless, but I'll let someone more experienced than me weigh in.

I'm not that warm yet here. We're 40s-50s day and upper 30s-40s at night...

I'd put the tops back on when it starts to cool down in the evening.

My lettuce is still covered because it's not that big or sturdy yet and I figure it can use the protection. Plus, it's supposed to rain really hard here this weekend so I don't want the little sprouts to get battered.

ooooh - thanks! I didn't even think of the rain. We're supposed to have rain tomorrow, too. I don't want them to wash away!
