Could be a different variety. I have seen them for sale in the red, lavendar, salmon. Also the plant itself with both the very dark reddish leaves and plain green. I would move the light color one to a place I could enjoy it alone, if it doesn't work in your color plan now. I quite enjoy my lavendar and salmon plants along with the red ones.

I like this plant in all the colors, extend the bloom with deadheading so they seem to bloom longer. Your plants sound happy with their location. Dampness seems to be a key for having a happy lobelia.

Thanks. It's such a pretty plant and it's in a woodland setting, I think I'll leave it be. You are probably correct, it looks quite salmon. And I bought a variety with the dark, dark reddish leaves, which I really love.

It's unfortunate that they are short lived. I hope to establish a seed bank and have more over the years.

This is one of my favorite flowers and the hummingbirds' favorite too. It would be great to have some salmon mixed in with the red!

I bought nursery plants in 07, and those plants have come back in 08 and 09. I let them go to seed and little Lobelia plants have popped up in moist open spots in the garden and in the garden paths. They have multiplied quite nicely!
