Congrats on your crepe myrtle success but in my NC yard they reseed themselves like crazy. If you want seedlings of them, they, like redbuds,come up by the tons if you just plant them where you want them.

I've also sown redbud seeds. They're germinating too. And dogwoods, and sweet shrub, and mock orange, and lilacs, and Carolina Cherry Laurel....I want a lot of shurbs and trees to fill in some areas in the back yard.

Crepe Myrtles are one of the best things about southern summers!

I only have room for two. One variety is Sarah's Favorite (white, large tree) and the other I can't recall the name but it's not as tall but it's very broad and the blooms are fragrant (deep pink) and when blooming, the branches practically touch the ground after a rain. I'll go out there and carefully shake the water off (lol) and I thin it regularly so it doesn't break. I wish I knew what it was.

Sarah's favorite is a hybrid so I don't know that it would come true from seed but you never know. I should try both.
