I want to clarify the following: The older you let them get before you seperate them, the better survivability rate will be. What species are we talking about? Because some are much less forgiving than others.

Specifically Alocasia cuprea, clypeolata and "stingray".

Hello Brendon, i see this discussion was quite some years ago so I hope this message still reaches you. How did you get on with the separation of clypeolata, because I am in the same position you were back then. I have 7 or 8 bulbous offsets sitting around the parent plant and am undecided as to when to attempt the task. Regards, Bruce

I posted extensively about sprouting bulbils (that is what they are called) for alocasia 'poly'.
