Never started any of those seeds before but something tells me that warmer than room temps is a good start. Are they planted in a mix of some sort? Are you using any kind of a humidity trap?

I'm putting them in lightly moist fresh compost (I make my own).

The ambient humidity is still high (last night it was 100%) so I'm not covering the pots. When the humidity starts dropping I will mist them. Misting has always worked for me with other seed that required high humidity.

I've read some threads around GW where some of the posters insist that misting is a complete and total waste of time while others stated that even if it wasn't doing anything to really improve humidity,it was very therapeutic for the gardener. lol

I use containers because that way I can just forget about the seedlings 'til later,and not have to worry about them drying up in my aloofness.

So is this thread going to be a journal of sorts with regular updates and pics?

I'll bet there are people who would benefit greatly from seeing how it's done. Such projects seem intimidating to those who haven't tried them before,but when they can see someone else's hands on demonstration the whole affair takes on a far less spooky appearance.
