Definately NOT a bog plant. In your warm climate you should try to keep it from dying back and going dormant by treating it as a houseplant during cold spells. A bright window and one with a little morning sun would be ideal here. Keep it pretty dry when cool and don't fertilize or expect it to grow much below about 80F. Until you get the hang of it, err on the side of being too dry rather than too wet. Smallish unglazed clay pots are the best choice in winter. As someone else in the South mentioned recently you need to move it back outside anytime the a/c starts coming on.
