How nice is that to have such nice specimens salvaged instead of destroyed. I have no clue what they are either. We have some 20 footer ones that are only about 50 years old (came with the house) I doubt I will ever get an ID on them. Thats ok. I think that Portland is such a nice place for gardeners. We can grow so much stuff here. We are supposed to be the city of roses, but we see just as many rhodies and camellias too. I suggest you walk around the rhododendron (by reed college) next mothers day and see if you can fined a named rhodie that looks like yours.
