No need to force it into dormancy.. if you can keep it growing year round then it is best.. I grow lots of them and many of them do not get completely dormant in our mild winters and tend to grow/multiply year round..

Another thing I noticed that the younger tubers usually dont get dormant but the jumbo ones (which are now over 10" in diameter) are the first stop their growth..

I grow them outdoors because I live in s. florida but they still go dormant around late Sept. There is another class of these called "evergreen" which supposedly will grow year around but I find they do go dormant when the temps drop below around 40. For indoor culture these would probably be a better choice.?? Check out the "stained glass" hybrids which besides the regular colors have yellows ,blues ,blacks . There are also various growth and leaf habits. If they do go dormant just withhold water until growth starts again.
