Hmm...didn't think of cream. I'm open to anything. Right now, I'm just totally stuck and don't know where to begin.

Many of our customers are selecting decorative wood or metal rods with side panel draperies. For your windows because they are smaller I would extend the rod past the window about 8 inches on each side, this will give the illusion that the window is larger and will not block any of your natural light. I am attaching a photo of an installation where we used the customers own drapery rod and side panels just to give you an idea what I'm talking about.

I'm almost thinking the picture is too small for the space. To make a greater impact should be bigger to balance the window and drapes.

I would put in a fabric roman shade similar to this photo. Clear everything off the window sill;)

I would agree with enhancing windows comments. Grommet curtain are nice. To choose your curtain colour you could choose one of the colours in your paintings. What colour is your wall? You could look at compliment colours on BM website and choose your curtain colour that way.

Sorry, but I do not see metal grommet curtains in a formal dining room with a crystal chandelier (which looks like it should be lowered)..

I think a semi-formal looking pinch pleat in a subtle pattern would look pretty. I'd also extend the curtains about 10 inches on the window sides. It will make the windows look larger and more formal. And, you'll also be able to open all of the way and get all the light in.

Margo, I tend to disagree, after all the pictures are not very formal and they look nice. The chandelier looks just fine. I would agree that Semi formal pinch pleated drapes are a great choice also.

you could take your BM color paint chip back to the other paint chips, and wave it over the vast selection of colors until your eye sees something it likes! Then, search for drapes in that color family.

We have wythe blue in one of our bathrooms; always amused me because it is more green than blue. Wonderful saturated color that is not too dark or bright. Most colors look good with it: blue, black, white, cream, purple, coral... Consider:
- put the mirror where the painting is now
- purchase a curtain rod in the same gold as your chandelier.
- Hang the rod close to the ceiling and make it much wider than the window, so the panels hang mostly on the walls, overlapping the window just a little

I like the idea of creme, or brown and also like the idea of a damask...

I would think a cream silk fabric would be beautiful. I would choose a dramatically formal rod and insure that it does extend on both sides as noted above. And the chandy does need to be lowered. A very beautiful room. Will be GORGEOUS when finished!
