We're assuming, Chad, that you are referring to installing Travertine during below freezing temperatures. We do not install any masonry when the temperature drops below freezing yet Atlanta does not experience long periods of very low temps. If installed correctly, travertine is a gorgeous addition to a formal exterior project.

Thank you for the response. I was more curious about the travertine holding up once install ed in freeze/thaw areas. Areas with snow, ice and temperatures below freezing at times during the winter months.

Travertine Pavers are able to withstand cold weather conditions given that they have been properly installed and are premium grade. If mud-setting Travertine Pavers in Northern States, FlexBond (or similar) adhesive should be used instead of traditional cement products to prevent cracking during the freeze/thaw cycle. Travertine Pavers are not only able to withstand freeze-thaw cycles but also extreme heat, their natural coolness provides an excellent walking surface for bare feet. By the way- The Roman Colosseum was built from Travertine! Amazing!
