I love the brown

Definitely the brown. The white reminds me of seating at a garden party or wedding.

Depending on the upholstery fabric color/pattern, I'd suggest the brown. However, if you can recover the chairs in the same fabric as the chairs (or maybe just that solid blue) I'd say go for the white!

I vote brown, looks far more elegant in my mind.

Brown is a better option. The white is lovely for a different kind of space.

Are the brown woods tones the same?

I'm have to say that while brown is the safe choice, the one you might want to go with if you are looking for playful whimsy is the white. Put a paisley pillow on each, or playful fur pillows that pull some colour inspiration from the upholstered ones. That would be fun in the space but I guess what really matters is the look and feel you are going for. Beautiful choices though! Good luck!

I like the brown. It just seems that the brown would tone in better with the white being too much of a contrast with the table and present chairs. I'd like to see some comments from the 15 people who voted for white chairs. Why?

How about something like these?

Brown for me. They are a lovely contrast with the current chair (same but different). Its more elegant. The white just clash; even if you do have white wood work in the background.

The brown chair would make the space look very formal with a cosy warm mood, whereas the white chair would lift the feel, giving the room a brighter, fresher look without compromising on the overall elegance of the room. I like light & bright. WHITE.
