I would leave it as is or add a mural/wallpaper as shown below if that works in your space. Normally I would suggest a large piece of art on that wall. But it’s not comfortable for anyone sitting on the bench to bump their head against any wall decor.

Your picture wasn’t included..if it’s size/shape/content are complementary, try to see what you think.

If not suitable, maybe consider a wall treatment to enhance this really cute space.

Show us the picture then maybe you will get help.

If you love the art, and it is a good size for the space - you could just hang it high enough, so that people on the bench would not bump their heads on it. You could get battery operated wall sconces to flank the art, if you would like; Amazon has many options, some available with remote control.

Another idea could be a tapestry.

IMO a large piece of art maybe even a cow or horse or beautiful field of wildflowers to keep that same feel to the space . For sure not wood pannelling like the one shown which is way too modern for your space

Someone brought up the issues of people sitting on the bench bumping their heads on wall art. That is an issue to consider. Wall hanging or tapestry might be a better option that should eliminate the problem of head bumping.

Does anyone think a gallery wall would work starting with the picture I attached?

I really like your art; and most importantly, you like it - and that is everything.

It was interesting, because when I created the visual with AI featuring the tapestry, I had requested a coffee shop/cafe type of image for the tapestry; so when I saw your picture, it was an amazing ‘coincidence’- with your cafe scene.

Is it a painting? I can’t tell from looking at it on my phone.

Yes, you could create a gallery wall using that picture. You would have to hang everything high; it would also be more frames that could potentially be in the way for people sitting and standing up, etc. Plus, the idea of people sitting with a bunch of frames right over their heads is potentially not the most comfortable feeling; not good Feng Shui. It’s a tight situation for art, since the bench is flush to the wall.

Also, with a gallery wall, your art could sort of get lost in a sea of other art; although, if you place it in the center of the gallery, you can possibly showcase it better. I think another thing to consider, is that one large piece might have more impact there.

However, if you would like to create a gallery wall around that piece, you can; just center it in the gallery arrangement.

Another option could be to create your own tapestry, using the image of your art. You could even include the black frame on the tapestry image, if you wanted to. You are able to customize it.. Amazon has many vendors who do this. I have done it, myself- I created a word art tapestry, featuring song lyrics that are meaningful to me. I haven’t hung it yet, although I’ve had it for awhile. It was a fun and easy process to customize the tapestry. Basically, all you have to do is upload your pic and adjust it in the view and specify size.

So it might be something for you to consider. You would be able to have a much larger presentation of your picture - with no concerns about people being uncomfortable, and/or bumping their heads on the art.

Or, as I suggested in first comment, you could use your one picture, and flank it with some battery operated wall sconces. That could possibly give the picture more presence on the wall.

Thank you, Celery. Very nice. We are trying to take into consideration the comfort, and possibly the safety, of those who will be sitting on the bench, and will also be maneuvering in and out of that tight area. So it is really not just a matter of how it “looks”.

I actually think your café picture can work really well with the sage green and navy palette you’re planning. I wouldn’t do a full gallery wall though - this is already a small, cozy nook and too many frames could make it feel busy. I’d keep your 18x24 piece as the focal point and pair it with just one or two smaller coordinating pieces, hung high enough that anyone sitting on the bench won’t bump their head. I’d also repeat a little of the sage green from the artwork in the bench cushions or table decor to tie everything together.

Based upon your photos, it appears that the light fixture is not centered over the table. I assume that the fixture is centered in the room - however, due to the bench that has been placed against the wall (instead of using chairs), the table has been moved over to the right side a bit.

It would drive me crazy to not have the light centered over the table.

Would the barn wood cabinet fit under what looks like a kitchen counter in original photo #2? Then the whole table setup could be rotated left 90 degrees, with the bench under the far window. Table could then be centered on room and light fixture., no heads would hit the art on the right-side wall.

I think your furniture placement in the space is smart and looks good. It is better for the bench to be tucked against the wall, in terms of the optimal use of the space; and it is also better for people to be sitting with their backs to a solid anchoring wall - versus sitting with their backs to the windows. Just don’t hang Art that will be an obstacle there; this is easy enough to do.

As far as the chandelier placement: It is also fine. It certainly would not “drive me crazy”... And I am sure that the chandelier placement is centered with the overall area. If you wanted it to be more centered over the table, you could always swag it over a bit; and the swag style would work well with your space style.

Unfortunately the barn cabinet would not fit under the counter. I usually pull the table and bench out and centered under the light. Wanted the bench against the wall to place the picture on it to see if I liked the picture, forgot to move it back so

Have you considered swapping the cabinet and the bench? Then you could put whatever art you want on that wall.

I‘d test the art’s feasibility for a few days. You could use Command strips in case it’s not feasible and not leave a mark.

Here is a view with sconces. Not your exact art (I just created and used something similar to show concept.) You see how sconces can add visual weight.

The sconces can also add ambient lighting at eye level.

So you have a lot of options. I like @Imprint Designs’ ideas, also.

Don’t worry about the art. All you have to do is hang it high enough, if you are using your existing framed art and any other art with frames. Since you have had a habit of moving the bench anyway, you could also move it just a couple of inches off the wall; that would help, too, in terms of people’s heads, etc. clearing the art. It may not be necessary to move the bench at all though, if you place the art high enough. And just don’t use a lot of pieces- which is easy, because a lot of pieces are not necessary. I do love the tapestry idea - for having a larger image of your cafe art, without any concerns of it being an obstacle. But you have a number of ways that you can go with your art.

It is hard to see but the bench is about 4 inches away from the wall as there is an electric baseboard heater there that we need some distance from. I am loving two ideas, either the gallery wall or the tapestry. Or perhaps having the photo printed on a large canvas, but that may be pricey. I will incorporate some green on the table, perhaps with a vase however, we are changing kitchen cupboards and the lower cabinets will be a sage green, so I don’t want to overdue it.
I am not going to switch the bench with the cabinet as some had recommended because I don’t wNt the stare at the wall, I want to look out the windows towards our beautiful view outside (which you can’t see from the photos I posted).

Your print should work nicely on the wall, especially if there's room between the back of the bench and the wall. Instead of a full gallery wall, perhaps you could find coordinating prints in a different size to hang on either side. Something like this.

I bet if you put your print into Chat GPT or Google Gemini, they could create coordinating prints for you to add to it. That's how I did this.

I didn't find them, I put your picture into Chap GPT and that's what it came up with. I just uploaded a picture of your print into Chat GPT and asked it to make two coordinating prints for it. That's what it came up with. You could do the same thing and then separate out each one and have it printed at Walgreens or Walmart or Staples to match your other print.
