We have old-style vinyl tile (here when we moved in 20 years ago!) We are replacing the refrigerator/freezers and think to replace the tile (which is showing its age by coming unstuck and separating - the square tiles are separate from the darker pieces). I really like this design, and thought parquet laid on the diagonal would work - but it will seem boring without the darker contrast in such a large room. I like the softness of the vinyl. Advice? Thanks for your help!
