Hi Kylapals, This is cement board lap siding. Tip: always use a cement board product with a thicker "butt" that's the lowest edge of the board. It produces a much better shadow line. We also used cement fiber shingles for the gable ends of the dormers. Cement fiber siding holds paint for a very long time. this building was 12 years old before they had to repaint. Do you have any experience with the Certainteed (Allura) Fiber Cement siding? They have a factory painted choice with the Nantucket Gray. I'm not sure if pre-painted is better or if its better to have it painted on site? Thank you!

JrBudd, No experience here. I always wait 5-10 years before specifying a "new" product
