As you can tell from the pics, my kitchen is very small. I'm thinking of moving the island back (towards the dining room) about 14". The island contains the sink and dishwasher but moving them should not be a problem. I haven't decided whether to keep the same counter or get a smaller one. I could eliminate the section to the right of the black tape as well as the counter chairs. Marked on the tile floor is where the dishwasher door would come to after the move. Much better walking space. The tape on the bottom of the cabinet marks the front edge location after moving. The back edge would be right where the corner post sits now.
I may also opt to change out the stove backsplash too if I replace the counter top. One more thought would be to extend the closer end of the counter (where the little stool is) just enough to set a narrow stool under. Any good ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
