Redsox, I was told by a dear man who helps with diseases and insects that you can use it but don't DARE use it without dilution. This man told me he has a friend in FL who uses it diluted. Please make sure your roses are well watered before spraying. I am not familiar with how high your temps. are where you live. Someone else may dispute this.

It is not a great idea to use Daconil in a hot environment, unless you don't mind burning the foliage. Daconil, should be diluted at a rate of one teaspoon per gallon of water. I don't use it anymore here, because our climate is just too warm for it.. My regimen for BS is Banner Maxx in combination with Mancozeb every ten to fourteen days. There are no alternates. Always water deeply at least six hours before spraying anything. I have never used Bayer products and doubt I ever shall. Why? Well, if the method used works, why change? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I watered well before hand AND diluted and the Daconil still burned the foilage terribly - looks worse than BS!! There are also white spots of the solution all over the leaves. Maybe I didn't dilute it correctly?

I suspect most of us who use the Bayer Advanced Garden Disease Control (fungicide spray)use it alone -- no supplements or alternatives. However, there is nothing wrong with using other sprays if they work (as Roseman indicates) and if you are so inclined. I figure--keep life simple. Bayer only--then I don't have to wrack my brain trying to remember what I used last time and is it time to change, etc. But then I'm a lazy gardener--I often forget to spray even. : )

I spray using mancozeb and alternate it with Daconil/Funginex/Honor Guard every three to four weeks depending on how things look. I alternate the preventive to try and avoid the buildup of reisitance to the chemicals.
However, I never use Daconil if it is going to be over 80 degrees outside within 24 hours of spraying the Daconil. It will burn the foliage badly otherwise. Once in a great while I will mix in Captan to chase off botrytis.
My method works well enough for me and is relatively inexpensive considering I have 225+ rose bushes to treat. I honestly never have major issues with fungal disease in my garden.

From mid-May to late September, it will be over 80 degrees within 24 hours here! So I just got rid of it. I completely defoliated a bush once with Daconil and that was enough for me.
