Spam..........

What made you think it was spam? It doesn't go to a commercial site or promote anything.

I thought it was on-topic - it's a short clip about a retired woman that runs an urban gardening program that features composting and recycling organics out of the waste stream. I live in a city and struggle to do that in my tiny yard, surrounded by neighbors that think I'm crazy. I was impressed that this woman has 30% neighborhood participation.

When I clicked the link I go a commercial for an electric razor!

Ya'll just need a pop up blocker! I liked the clip. Human nature at it's finest.

Pam

I have popup blocker and every other kind of blocker, even sun block I think LOL
being the hard headed stubborn person that I am I tried it 2 more times. The third attempt finally gave me the clip. once it ran another commercial came on. Could it be some kind of loop that runs ad's and stories?
Great story (once I got to see it)

Ooooh. Now I understand. The first time I watched it, it ran a short commercial in the left-hand frame before playing the clip. Now that I have watched the clip, it doesn't play the commercial for me anymore - but it did when I sent it to my daughter. I can see how that would look like spam.

I am accustomed to watching news clips online - many of them run a TV-like commercial before the clip runs, and I just ignore them. Most video sources have some kind of advertising to support the free service (and GardenWeb has those annoying ads that run across your screen). The commercial takes about 15 seconds and then the news clip plays.

When Garden Web sends those annoying ads across my screen, I click the refresh button, and they disappear (learned this trick from another post on GW.)

Re. the Grandma link, I tried it several times and never got anything but ads so concluded it was spam.
