I use a garden kneeler. I can kneel & then use the support arms to push myself up.

Or I can flip it over & the support arms then become legs & the kneeling part becomes a bench to sit on.

I bought an additional cushioned kneeling pad at Wal-Mart to use with it because it wasn't as padded as I wanted.

Thanks Debbie. I looked at that one but I can't kneel to long. I ended up ordering the garder rocker. I hope it's worth it.

I can't kneel too long either so I keep flipping my kneeler from kneeling to bench. Or I sit on the kneeling part. I have to have those arms to push myself up with.

I have the kneeler and I also purchased the little rocker seat that looks like a tractor seat. It needs to be a little higher for me, although I like to use it to weed. I lost my balance and fell in one of my raised beds and had an awful time getting out last summer. My DH had to help me when he quite laughing at my predicament. Awful, isn't it? - Barb

Bending at your waist to plant is not good for anyones back. That in itself will cause problems. I use the pitch fork stuck in the ground on one side and a stick (PVC pipe I also use for seeding) to lift myself up onto an inverted bucket reposition the supports to push myself up the rest of the way. Looks stupid but it works and it will save your back.

I have problem knees too, and last year my DH bought me a little seat/wagon. It's on wheels and you sit on the lid, which has storage for garden tools it. Very handy and I can work out there longer without my knees or back bothering me. I think he bought it from Lee Valley. They also have a better one, with a tractor seat on it.

i love my garden rocker. it's very light weight, easy on the knees [although not good for use if youve had knee replacement surgery] and the back. don't use anything else if i have to sit in the garden.
