I have a 20-year-old with autism who enjoys some kinds of garden work. He doesn't like to weed because he keeps forgetting what's weeds and what's plants, but he does like harvesting big veggies where you can tell at a glance what you're supposed to be picking. The big jobs are really his favorite. He's an excellent wheelbarrow man. He hates loud noise so we use a manual mower and he goes along pretty well with that. He's not one who likes repetitive tasks, so I have to be openminded that he may only make a few passes before moving on to the next job. And if I don't want to stand guard over the plantings, then it has to be fenced so he can tell where not to mow. Even though there are no pesticides, we never eat from the garden because it's a short jump from cherry tomatoes to yew berries, or chives to turf grass. Just thought I would share.
