why would anyone want to intentionally grow that?
i guess birds would eat the berries but then you would have them everywhere. if they are as hard to remove as other smilax, i would not want them.

Ditto Jeff...already have a problem with the native one around my place. It's awful to try to get rid of.

I battle smilax year round. Every month I excavate enormous tubors, allowed to grow by the Mow, Blow & Go guys that mowed the lawn before we bought our place, mostly woodland with some lawn. I have read that the Jacksonvine species of Smilax is popular in Huntsville (see "Southern Shade" by Jo Kellum). But I would have to think long and hard before purposefully planting any type of smilax.

This person probably sells Paulownia, Ailanthus, Callery pear seedlings, and other problem plants, too.
