Oooh I'd like to have one, too. I love white flowers. If you have a friend/neighbor/relative who has one you like, you could ask them to try rooting a branch for you. Take a brick and use it to hold a branch pinned to the ground. More details in Hydrangea forum if you are interested.

hi, i worked for a wholesale nursery here about 9 years ago and brought home a small plant that was tagged annabelle,it was the only white they sold. i have never tried to root a cutting off of it but i will give it a try! when it blooms i will take a pic, my husband planted it in a not to perfect spot so it does not get as much light as i think it needs and i dont know if it looks like it should, if that makes sense but i cannot move it now.i will try rooting a few pieces of it and hope they take ! ronda

Hmmm. I chopped down a white hydrangea last year because it was doing so poorly. I inherited at the new house. It was maybe 5' tall and 7' round, but only a couple of stunted, white blooms. I think it was burning up from a full sun exposure. Anyway, it's coming up from the roots now.

I don't know if it's an Annabelle or if it was some other white one -- I know nothing about hydrangeas. All I can say for sure it that it's not an oakleaf.

But if someone wants to dig up part of it or snip a branch for rooting, I'll be happy to avoid mowing over it for a while. :)
