Arlene is coming? What are you doing?

Well, here we are. We just got enough of the Hurricane Ivan debris cut up, cut down, dragged off and cleaned up to have a decent yard again and the first storm of the season is likely heading this way.

Sometimes you have to wonder if the benefits to living on the Alabama Gulf Coast outweigh the drawbacks! Maybe it will not strengthen too much and it will move toward the west. Not that I wish the storm on any of you MS or LA folks, but we've had enough for a while here.

I just gave all my bananas and citrus trees a dose of nice dehydrated manure to build up their strength and endurance (hopefully) to withstand some wind and rain in the next few days.

I am wondering if anyone does anything special in preparations for their plants before a storm like this. Anyone take stuff out of the ground and pot them temporarily? Stakes for support for the ones you leave?
