Aldridge Gardens in Birmingham,Huntsville Botanical Gardens, Callaway Gardens in LaGrange, Ga., Birmingham Botanical Gardens are all good to wonderful.

Thanks for your suggestions. We've been to Calloway Gardens a number of times, and also the B'ham Botanical Gardens, but not the others. I'll have to check them out.

On your way to Huntsville, you might try Cheekwood Gardens in Nashville. I haven't been in several years but it was very nice. Do come visit us in Huntsville. There have been several weekend garden tours here in the past couple of months, but I'm not sure there will be any in July. If you want to visit a nice local nursery, try Bennett's in North Huntsville. Next door to Bennett's is 'Across the Pond', which is a great place to visit and enjoy the koi and bird-watching area.

Well folks, we've decided where to go now. We are heading due east from here and plan to end up in Savannah, Ga. and possibly drive a bit farther north to Charleston, SC. Neither of us has ever been to Savannah, and we are really looking forward to it. I've been to Charlston, but my sister hasn't. If any one knows anything along the way that might be interesting, please advise me of it.

Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile, AL is just wonderful! This used to be the home of one of Coca Cola's first major salesman. Beautiful! Lots of mosquitos, though. :(
