Hollyhocks and rust

Hi All, I've been growing hollyhocks for several years. This has been my first year dealing with rust on hollyhocks. I got so aggravated yesterday, I just up rooted them all.

Is there something I can spray around where they grew so nothing else gets this rust?

Hollyhock rust is a species specific disease affecting only hollyhock and a few other plants in the same family. It won't affect any thing else.
