I got a beautiful ginger from Virginia at the swap and I would like to know what its botanical or common name is. I emailed her but have not received a reply. Perhaps her email address has changed.

The plant is about 2 1/2 feet tall, with light green oval leaves. The infloresence looks like beads on a string. The flowers are yellow and about an inch and a half long. It has either reseeded or has sent up lots of little shoots around its base. I can bring some to the swap in spring, if anyone wants them.
