Well, it is 9 am and we still have snow on the cars. Isn't it fascinating that just 20 miles away at your house it is so much warmer?

When I got up at 6:30 this morning it was 34 degrees in Gadsden and there was no sign of snow. Looks like we'll probably get some before the winter is over, but I'm in no rush.

Beth, we drove down to Woodstock Auto Salvage to replace a mirror on the SUV so we were just a few miles away from you. Once we crossed the Jefferson county line, there was very little snow. If it never snows again, it will be too soon.

It always amazes me how different a few miles can make in temperatures and even climates. I do like a little snow now and again, as I am from Ohio originally. It brings back a lot of fond childhood memories, and doesn't truly seem like Christmas without it. But I will admit to not wanting it to stay very long, as I don't like to walk or drive on ice. And my ole bones don't care for the prolonged cold either- LOL!!But there is something magical about looking at, or walking in, fresh snow- especially on a moonlit night (-:

My ex, who lives in the Los Angeles area, had flown into Huntsville for the weekend. They had a pretty good dusting there, enopugh to definitely cover the lawns and bushed but nothing on the roads or sidewalks. The photos she sent were beautiful - but what a change for her!
