I'm a novice gardener interested in planting a few different varieties of onions-some red, white, and sweet-in an effort to provide extended harvest of green tops and bulbs throughout the season. How soon can/should I start planting and what varieties would anyone recommend specifically for my area? My Dad would like to have Stockton Reds in his garden here-anyone have experience with this variety in the south? Thanks in advance for any advice you have to share!
